Relationships lie at the core of our lives. Whether we are hetero- or metro-sexual, lesbian, gay, bi, or transgender, sexually active, or celibate, as long as we live with or near people, we are in relationships. Using meditation, exercises, and dialogue, we will explore how relationships, particularly the ones with significant others, can help us confront our obstacles to personal liberation. How do we balance our needs for intimacy and merger with our needs for separateness and autonomy? How can we bring loving kindness, compassion, and sympathetic joy to the issues of conflict, anger, and jealousy? What, if any, is the role of attachment in relationships? Join three experienced NY Insight teachers, each with a unique perspective, to explore the ways in which Buddhist thinking and methods can enlighten our relationships.
