Aging As a Spiritual Practice Daylong
with Rosemary Blake, Amy Selzer and Nancy Glimm
Saturday, October 27th, 2018 | 10:00am-5:00pm
Join us for a day exploring aging as a spiritual practice through direct meditation practice, Dharma offerings from the three teachers, open discussions as well as dyad and triad work among sangha members. Sangha support for this spiritual practice is essential and will be a direct part of this daylong. Enjoy learning how others are working with aging as a spiritual practice.
Topics for exploration will include:
1) Waking up to Aging
2) Coming to terms with Aging
3) Accepting who we are now
4) Appreciating the life we have now
We will practice mindfulness meditation as a direct access to calming and quieting our body/minds. We will work with the Brahma Vihāra cultivating Metta, Karuna, Mudita and Upekkha (loving kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity) for ourselves and others. We will focus on self compassion as we expand the awareness of our aging bodies and minds.
There will be more teachings as well! Come join Rosemary, Amy and Nancy and the Aging as Spiritual Practice Sangha for a day of practice together.
This daylong retreat is offered to all those exploring the spiritual benefits of aging as a direct practice. The daylong is open to all levels of students.
The registration fee includes teacher support. If you wish to give more in addition to the registration fee, the total (registration fees and additional contributions) will be shared between NYI and the teacher(s).
