“Just as the great ocean has one taste, the taste of salt, so also this teaching and discipline has one taste, the taste of liberation.” -The Buddha
2,600 years ago an Indian prince awoke to a truth, one so simple yet so subtle, he felt the need to stay silent and that no one would be able to comprehend. Entreated to teach, the prince who would eventually come to be known as the Buddha or awakened one, eventually turned the wheel of the teachings on this profound truth, ushering an abundance of spiritual wealth and goodness into our world. All of this benefit and goodness was not the result of material progress or social upheaval, but instead was the fruit born of one persons inner transformation.
In this daylong workshop we will dive deep into the heart of the Buddha’s inner transformation and the spiritual tradition that arose from it. Through a combination of experiential learning, guided/silent meditation, and discussion we will explore how to access and develop a grounded open heart, a more available and open space of mindful awareness, and deeper insight into how to better overcome mental and emotional habits that cause us unnecessary suffering. All are welcome!
