Online: The Brahma-Viharas – A Four Week Course on the Heart

with Amanda Gilbert

Tuesdays, February 7th – 28th, 2023 | 7:00pm – 8:30pm ET

Have you felt the call to get to know the traditional Buddhist heart practices known as the Brahma-Viharas (Loving-Kindness, Compassion, Appreciative Joy and Equanimity) a little bit more? Or have wondered how to incorporate Loving-Kindness and Compassion practice into your existing vipassana and mindfulness-based meditation practice?

In this four-week series, author of Kindness Now: A 28-Day Guide to Living With Authenticity, Intention and Compassion, Amanda Gilbert, will share teachings, view and techniques on each of the heart qualities. Week by week, you’ll discover the heartful magic of each Brahma-Vihara while being supported in a community of practitioners joining you in this month-long deep dive.

Course Content:

Week 1: Loving Kindness (Metta) This week guides you with teachings on metta where you will learn the powerful yet subtle ways you can meet yourself and others with kindness.
Week 2: Compassion (Karuna) This week guides you into the healing world of compassion and the different facets of learning to meet yourself and others with greater wisdom and understanding.
Week 3: Appreciative Joy (Mudita) This week guides you to your true experience of genuine happiness and authenticity by learning that real love and connection come from the generosity of an expanded heart.
Week 4: Equanimity (Uppekha) This week guides you to your new baseline of being. It will cement the divine abode you have been building over the last three weeks of heart-based practice.

This course is open to all and no prior meditation experience is necessary. It recommended having a copy of Kindness Now and a journal for this month of study. For more information visit: www.kindnessnowbook.com or your favorite book retailer.
