Forest therapy, also known as forest bathing, is a nature therapy based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku. It is an accessible method for reconnecting with nature, your body, senses, feelings, and emotions in ways that have been shown to improve your mental health and wellness.
Shinrin-Yoku forest therapy can help you to:
– Softly reduce stress and relieve anxiety
– Induce a gentle calm and clarity
– Increase creativity
– Refocus aspirations and refresh yourself
This in-person, guided walk with Joanie Roney will lead you through a series of meditative, mindful invitations, where you will start noticing through your senses the subtle beauty around and within you. The guided walk will be 12 PM to approx. 2 PM, with time afterward to share and connect.
Please plan your journey to arrive at Tuscan Garden in Snug Harbor, Staten Island, by 12 PM.
*Participants are invited to meet at 10:15 am at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in lower Manhattan to travel to Snug Harbor together via MTA bus (or bike!).
NOTE: Most SES gatherings are dāna-based. The registration fee for this event will be used to purchase tickets for participants through Snug Harbor.
