In-Person and Online: Community Meditation Gathering

Although Buddhism is often seen as a solitary path, sangha, or community, is an essential part of meditation practice. However, cultivating this sense of community has been a difficult challenge in this day and age of social isolation and Zoom fatigue.
This series of in-person New York Insight community gatherings consists of guided meditation, a talk by one of our teachers, followed by group discussion, and opportunities to socialize and connect with like-minded practitioners.
Whether you are brand new to meditation practice, new to New York Insight, or are a longtime, experienced meditator, all are welcome to join us for this series of in-person community meditation gatherings.

- Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to ensure an orderly check-in.
- Reserved seats will be released at 6:30 PM to our waitlist.
- If we are sold out, please sign-up for the waiting list – there may be a gap before the Wait List opens.
- If you are on the Wait List, please email registration@nyimc.org between 5:30-6 pm on the day to inquire if space opened up for you to join us.
- Walk-Ins will be admitted if space is available on a first-come basis at the start of the program.

Angela Dews
Angela Dews found the dharma in 1996 on retreat from journalism, politics and government at Vallecitos Mountain Ranch in New Mexico. She is fictionalizing those experiences in a series of novels set in Harlem. Harlem Hit & Run is the first and is available now. She is a graduate of the fourth Community Dharma Leaders Program at Spirit Rock. She began dedicated practice at Deer Park In California with Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh. Venerable Pannavati Bhikkhuni is her teacher now and she is building community in her Harlem Insight Sangha.
