Christy Shibata has been a dedicated yogi for almost a decade, having built her practice through the communities of Insight Meditation Society and Ten Percent Happier. She recently joined the NYIMC sangha in 2022 and is eager to bring her financial and business management skills, as well as her leadership experience, to the board of NYIMC.
Shibata is a seasoned finance executive in the media and entertainment industry. She currently holds the role of CFO, NBCUniversal Media Group, where she oversees the financial operations of the company’s television and streaming platforms. Outside of her corporate career, Shibata is a co-owner and operator, along with her husband, of two Japanese restaurants on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. In her spare time, Shibata can be found spending time in nature enjoying activities like hiking and foraging.
