with Anjie Cho
Saturday, March 8th, 2025 | 11:00am – 1:00pm ET
Location: New York Insight at 115 West 29th Street, 12th Floor
To get us ready for the spring equinox, join us as we explore ikebana—the Japanese art of flower arrangement—as a contemplative dharma mindfulness practice to invite art into your everyday life.
Designed for all skill levels, this Ikebana class requires no artistic experience and includes:
- Instructional demonstration on creating an ikebana arrangement interwoven with contemplative dharma art, Buddhist, and Taoist teachings.
- A greater awareness of nature, your environment, and the world of flowers.
- Teachings on how to connect with the qi (life force energy) of a flower and invite its wisdom into your home and meditation practice.
- Practical learning on procuring and use of ikebana equipment.
- Participants are invited to create their own flower arrangement in class.
- Connection with other people who love flowers and contemplative arts.
All equipment and flowers required for the program will be provided. The flowers are yours to take home, and participants have an option to purchase equipment at the event directly from the teacher.
Note: experienced practitioners are welcome to bring their own supplemental equipment.
