How to Practice at a Time Like This: An Online Urban Retreat
with Narayan Liebenson
Saturday, December 12th, 2020 | 9:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday, December 13th, 2020 | 9:00am – 3:00pm
The teachings and practices of the Buddha are said to be timeless. And, the period of time we are in right now is particularly clearly turbulent and complex. How can the teachings of loving-attention, wisdom, and compassion be relevant in our daily lives at this particular time? How can we place these timeless teachings within the context of our everyday lives?
During these two days of engaging in the ancient forms of sitting and walking, we will also address various aspects of our everyday lives such as sleeping, eating, relaxing body and mind, wise view, and wise relationship to the current events.
Suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners, each retreat day will include sitting meditation, talks, and questions/responses. All are most welcome to join.
The weekend’s practice schedule will be:
Saturday:
First Session: 9:00am-11:00am
Second Session: 1:00pm-3:00pm
Third Session: 4:00pm-6:00pm
Sunday:
First Session: 9:00am-11:00am
Second Session: 1:00pm-3:00pm
There will be specific instructions for how to practice between the formal meditation periods.
