Online: Introduction to the Four Noble Truths
with Amy Selzer and Nancy Glimm
Saturdays, April 6th – 27th, 2024 | 10:00am – 1:00pm ET
We all know that being human comes with all different degrees of suffering, stress, disappointment, pain, joy, happiness, pleasant and unpleasant experiences.
What we often forget is that we have a choice to deepen our experiences of joy and lessen our experiences of dukkha (or suffering, unsatisfactoriness, stress).
This choice is the essence of the Buddha’s teachings on the Four Noble Truths: There is dukkha, there is a cause of it, there is the cessation of it, and there is a Path of developing qualities that lead to its cessation.
In this four-week class we will look at the truth of our experiences, and practice how these truths can move us toward more skillful choices and contentment.
Together we will meditate, hear dharma talks, have engaging group discussions and break-out rooms, and have assignments and homework.
Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to investigate your experiences through the lens of the Four Noble Truths and you will discover that by just recognizing these truths when they arise, there is an experience of freedom and peace.
