Do you think about your life as if it will never end? If you woke up each morning, knowing you only had a year to live, what would change? How might fear—or the busy “doing mind”—keep you from experiencing life as it is? What would happen if you awoke each day with play, appreciation, and joy?
Until we are directly confronted with mortality most of us don’t ask ourselves these questions. And without the right tools, our resistance to death can leave us feeling afraid and isolated.
This course is about living fully in each moment of your life through the Buddha’s perspective—his core teachings. We will explore our thoughts and feelings about dying and how this process awakens us all to the preciousness of this life. Once a month for all of 2025, we will meet to discuss how Buddhist teachings can help us greet death with an open, loving mind.
These sessions are not just for those who society labels as “aging.” People of all ages and those interested in living life to the fullest are welcome.
