Happy relationships are possible—for everyone. Maybe you’ve been married for twenty years (or two) and you’re feeling burdened by routine. Perhaps you’re struggling to relate to parents or co-workers whose political views differ from your own. Or maybe you just feel like your friendships aren’t as “deep” as they used to be.

The truth is that all of us can create lasting and joyful connections with the people around us. In this course, you’ll learn to develop positive connections with yourself and those close to you, and practice using your communication and actions to foster gratitude, set wise boundaries, and create deeper and long-lasting attachments of mutual support and caring. Together we’ll learn Buddhist strategies for cultivating appreciation, setting wise expectations, and creating meaningful and intimate bonds of mutual support and kindness with our partners, family, and friends.

This program is appropriate for and open to anyone who wants to rekindle their connections and rediscover the beauty of supportive, loving relationships. No experience with meditation or Buddhism is necessary, and all are welcome.

We’ll be working from and referencing Kimberly’s new book Happy Relationships: 25 Buddhist Practices to Transform Your Connection with Your Partners, Family, and Friends, a practical guidebook for cultivating appreciation, setting healthy expectations, and nurturing meaningful, intimate attachments, using traditional tools of mindfulness and lovingkindness practices. (Note: purchase of the book is not required for this course.)
