In-Person and Online: The Heart of Connection – Spiritual Friendships in Challenging Times

with Dan Harris, Sebene Selassie, and Jeff Warren

Monday, December 9th, 2024 | 7:00pm – 9:00pm ET

In-Person Location: Congregation Beit Simchat Torah at 130 West 30th Street, New York, NY

Join us for New York Insight Meditation Center’s annual benefit—a special evening dedicated to exploring the profound impact of spiritual friendships in addressing the loneliness epidemic affecting individuals and communities across the globe.

This year, New York Times bestselling co-authors of Ten Percent Happier, Dan Harris and Jeff Warren, will join their friend and fellow teacher Sebene Selassie for a candid conversation on the essential role spiritual friendships play in supporting our practice and mental health. Together, they’ll explore the life-saving impact of these connections, share practical insights for fostering them in our daily life, and discuss how meditation can strengthen our resilience to face life’s challenges.

After a fun, lively conversation and some guided meditation practice, we’ll open up the evening to the audience for a Q&A session with Jeff, Sebene, and Dan – so bring your questions and join in the dialogue!

All proceeds from this event will go to support the New York Insight Meditation Center, a nonprofit 501(c)(3).

Dan Harris

Dan Harris is an author, podcaster, and entrepreneur. For 21 years, he worked as an anchor and correspondent for ABC News, hosting such shows as Nightline and the Weekend editions of Good Morning America. Dan has reported from all over the planet, covering wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and producing investigative reports in Haiti, Cambodia, and the Amazon. After having a nationally televised panic attack on Good Morning America, Dan discovered meditation and then wrote the best-selling book “10% Happier” as a way to encourage fellow skeptics to give the practice a shot. After that first book, Dan launched the Ten Percent Happier app, wrote a second book, and started a podcast where he interviews celebrities, entrepreneurs, authors, scientists, and meditation teachers about how to do life better.
