Postponed: White Awake
with Elaine Retholtz & Gary Singer
Wednesdays, September 23rd – October 28th, 2020 | 9:30am – 12:00pm ET
We are living through unprecedented times that call us to examine and disrupt the status quo. What has been ignored can no longer be so.
New York Insight is offering a course for white practitioners to create a space to examine our privilege, blind spots, and racial conditioning in the context of Dharma teachings and practice.
Using the tools and perspectives offered by the Dharma we will explore these issues, and encourage concrete actions to help dismantle racism in its many guises: personal, interpersonal, institutional, systemic, and cultural.
We ask you to agree to:
-maintain or renew your Dharma practice as a frame for supporting this inquiry.
-be willing to grapple with difficult, sometimes painful issues, and to stay engaged, as you explore your experience being part of a racist world.
-seek support of the program facilitators, as needed.
When you register, you will be asked to tell us a bit about your interest in this course and your Dharma / meditation background.
All proceeds will be donated to an organization supporting Black Lives Matter. Please register at the highest level possible for you!
